Ladies and gentlemen, it is my pleasure to present to you the course “How to Understand Psychoactive Substances”. This online certification course is a wonderful guide for anyone interested in this topic, for anyone who has been injured or has a loved one who has been affected by drug use. In the book, I have tried to present as much scientific information on the topic as possible and at the same time to present it in an accessible way for the ordinary person (non-specialist). Many psychoactive substances, their properties, history, development, legality, methods of use, and their consequences are considered. I’ve looked at some of the most commonly used “legal” drugs, such as tobacco, alcohol, and anabolic steroids, and those we all consider dangerous or at least somewhat harmful, such as cannabis, heroin, cocaine, amphetamines, and ecstasy. Although psychoactive substances have been used since ancient times and are currently used in modern medicine, the issues related to them are increasingly relevant, important, and urgent.
I hope that my attempt to synthesize the main points and facts about drugs will be useful for every reader. I also hope that this book will help every young person in his journey of seeking and discovering pleasures, guiding him on a path safer for his health and personal development.
